Firefox Add-on – IE Tab
One of the biggest drawbacks about Firefox is the fact that not all web pages will display correctly or open using the browser. This normally isn’t a huge problem but it can be for using a few web sites such as Windows Update or Microsoft Update online. If you use Vista or Windows 7 then this isn’t going to be an issue for you. But what about the few other Microsoft services online that will not run in Firefox?
To fix that problem is a program called IE Tab. It will allow you to run Firefox just like normal but when you get to a web page or site where you just are unable to use Firefox you can switch to Internet Explorer mode and you will have no problems browsing. The add-on embeds Internet Explorer into the tabs of Firefox allowing you to view any page without any problem. You can also manually add web pages to a list that will automatically open in Internet Explorer mode.
So if you are wanting to try Firefox but are unsure if it will work because of the possibility of online compatibility issues then give Firefox with the IE Tab add-on a try.
